NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang will visit South Korea next week, according to sources in the Korean semiconductor and IT industries. This trip comes approximately seven months after his visit to Gyeongju last October to attend the APEC Business Leaders’ Meeting. Huang plans to first attend NVIDIA’s annual AI developer conference (GTC Taipei 2026) in Taipei, before heading to South Korea immediately after his main itinerary concludes.
Industry experts predict that Huang’s visit will include talks with Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix regarding High Bandwidth Memory (HBM), next-generation AI accelerators, and foundry cooperation. Analysts noted that while NVIDIA dominates the current AI accelerator market, it remains highly dependent on South Korean partners for HBM supply, advanced packaging, and foundry services for its next-generation products. Additionally, IT companies such as LG and Naver may also hold in-depth discussions with Huang in the fields of cloud computing and physical AI.
