NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang arrived at Seoul’s Gimpo Airport on June 5, marking his return to South Korea after seven months. Upon disembarking, Huang told the media that he had brought “a lot of business” for Korea and revealed he had prepared a “surprise” gift for his Korean hosts, but declined to elaborate, saying “it wouldn’t be a surprise if I told you.” When asked about business prospects, he said the visit was meant to express gratitude to Korean partners and customers, and noted that AI business is accelerating: last year saw great results, and the Korean market is showing strong momentum. He expects second-half business this year to exceed the first half, with next year reaching even higher levels.
It was also reported that Huang would have dinner that evening at a grilled pork belly restaurant near Hongdae in Seoul with top Korean business leaders, with legendary esports player Faker reportedly among those attending. During his visit, he plans to meet with the heads of major Korean conglomerates such as Samsung and SK to discuss cooperation in areas including AI chips, high bandwidth memory (HBM), physical AI, robotics, and AI infrastructure. When asked if he would try Korean BBQ, Huang replied bluntly: “I really like Korean BBQ, as well as fried chicken and samgyetang.”
