On June 16, ByteDance’s Volcano Engine large model platform, Volcano Ark Experience Center, officially launched the video generation model Seedance 2.0 mini, and its API will be opened soon. The official pricing is set at 0.023 yuan per thousand tokens for image-to-video and 0.014 yuan per thousand tokens for video-to-video; converted at 720P specification, the cost per second of generation is approximately 0.5 yuan, a reduction of about 50% compared to the Seedance 2.0 standard version. The Doubao large model team positions it as a high-cost-performance video generation model, suitable for high-frequency, large-scale scenarios such as e-commerce content production, batch marketing material generation, UGC content creation, and special effects generation.
Seedance 2.0 mini fills the low-cost tier of ByteDance’s video generation product line, adding a streamlined version designed for large-scale consumer scenarios alongside the standard and Fast versions. In terms of speed, according to user test feedback, the mini version is about twice as fast as the Fast version, with image quality close to that of the Fast version. The model has also been launched simultaneously on the consumer-facing Jimeng App, with a limited-time points incentive. Since the release of the full version of Seedance 2.0, it has covered mainstream commercial video generation scenarios but has not yet been fully rolled out in overseas markets; the mini version targets price-sensitive, large-scale production needs at a lower unit cost, further penetrating industries such as e-commerce and marketing.
