Android Authority has discovered five new features under development in the ChatGPT Android app v1.2026.146 by manually enabling hidden flags. The most practical of these is „Find in chat“ — tapping the three-dot menu allows you to enter a keyword to locate specific content within the current conversation, solving the pain point of endlessly scrolling through long chats. This feature was previously available on the web version via Ctrl+F, but the mobile app lacked a dedicated entry point. Other features include: consolidating tools like Deep Research and Thinking into a new „Plugins“ option group to tidy up the cluttered plus menu; adding list and grid view toggles for the library; supporting batch multi-selection of files in the library; and quickly inserting existing files from the library into a new conversation using the „@“ symbol, eliminating the need to re-upload them.
All of these features are still in development and their release dates have not yet been disclosed. Android Authority points out that APK teardowns are predictive reports and some features may not ultimately be rolled out to users.
