LG launches the world’s first native 1000Hz Full HD gaming monitor

On May 18, LG Electronics unveiled the UltraGear 25G590B, officially positioning it as the world’s first consumer gaming monitor capable of delivering a native 1000Hz refresh rate at 1080p (1920×1080) resolution. Featuring a 24.5-inch IPS panel, it is primarily aimed at FPS esports players. Previously, models from brands like Philips and HKC offering 1000Hz performance required either lowering the resolution to 720p or switching between dual modes to achieve peak refresh rates; the 25G590B, however, maintains 1000Hz output at standard 1080p without any compromise, ensuring consistent visual specifications for both training and competitive play.

In terms of visuals, the monitor incorporates Motion Blur Reduction Pro technology to make fast-moving objects easier to track, while its IPS panel features an anti-reflective coating to preserve color accuracy across various viewing angles. For AI capabilities, AI Scene Optimization automatically detects game genres and adjusts display settings accordingly, whereas AI Sound delivers spatial audio and enhanced voice clarity when paired with compatible headsets. Visually, it boasts a minimalist stand design, a built-in headphone hook, and customizable lighting effects. LG states that the 25G590B will first launch in select markets during the second half of 2026, followed by broader availability; pricing details remain undisclosed.
