According to Huaguo Technology, iOS WeChat has recently begun a phased rollout of the “Log in with Phone Number” feature for select users: when logging into an account on a device where it was previously used, this option appears on the login screen. After selecting it, users can log in instantly via their mobile carrier’s authentication service without entering a password or verification code — provided cellular data is enabled. This method applies only to accounts already logged in on the same device; new accounts still require a verification code. The traditional password and verification code login methods remain unchanged. Additionally, WeChat is simultaneously testing several other new features, including landscape video mode, floating video windows along screen edges, combined payment options for transfers, the ability to direct incoming payments to WeChat Wallet Plus, a redesigned Moments layout, one-click copying of multiple messages, and side-by-side viewing of photos and videos. All these features are currently in the testing phase and have not yet been released to all users.
