CMLink global data card updates China Mainland activation policy from June 17: must insert and power on card while outside China

CMLink Global Data Card has released an important notice, announcing that starting from 00:00 on June 17, 2026 (Beijing time), it will adjust the activation policy for products related to Mainland China to comply with local compliance requirements. There are three core changes: 1. Package products containing Mainland China data will no longer support direct activation within Mainland China; 2. Customers must insert the SIM card into their phone outside of Mainland China (including Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan) within 72 hours before entering Mainland China and keep it powered on for 3 to 5 minutes to complete pre-activation; 3. These products are only for short-term use by overseas visitors to Mainland China and are not available for purchase or use by Mainland Chinese residents. CMLink reminds users to complete the above operations before departure or at a transit airport; otherwise, the SIM card may not work properly upon entering the country.
