After three-year shutdown, Tianya Community activates new domain tianya.net on June 1 for phased access restoration; historical data arbitration and preservation completed

On May 31, Tianya Community issued an official statement announcing that starting from June 1, 2026, at 00:00, it will officially activate the tianya.net domain, first opening the browsing function for some highlighted posts, and planning to gradually restore interactive functions and release a supporting app within June. Tianya Community was suspended on April 1, 2023, due to unpaid IDC fees, and the restart team has been working on self-rescue for three years. In February of this year, with the support of the “New Tianya Joint Working Group”, a recovery plan was established. Tianya Community and China Telecom have reached a legally effective data migration arbitration award through the Hainan International Arbitration Court, achieving key progress in the complete preservation of historical data. The original tianya.cn domain is temporarily unavailable, and the migration of historical data to tianya.net is still awaiting relevant approvals, with overall data restoration expected to be completed within June. The statement emphasizes that ownership of core assets such as the brand and historical data belongs to Tianya Community Company, and the entrusted operator does not involve asset changes. Upon first login, users must confirm privacy authorization in accordance with the “Personal Information Protection Law”.

At its peak, Tianya Community was once the most influential comprehensive forum in China, with hundreds of millions of registered users and a vast amount of original content that the company describes as “a unique asset that will shine brilliantly in the AI era”, using this core narrative to attract technology and AI talents to join the reconstruction. The statement also responds to media reports, saying that some reports are “not entirely accurate”, and the specific progress of the next stage will be announced on June 10.
