Apple sets WWDC26 for June 8; agenda includes new AI advancements and developer tools

According to an announcement on May 18 from Apple Newsroom, this year’s Worldwide Developers Conference, WWDC26, will take place from June 8 to 12. The Keynote speech is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. Pacific Time on June 8 and will be streamed live for free on apple.com, the Apple TV app, and Apple’s YouTube channel. At 1 p.m. on the same day, there will also be an in-depth technical session titled “Platforms State of the Union” aimed at developers. On June 8, Apple will welcome over 1,000 developers, designers, and students to Apple Park for on-site events.

Throughout the week, more than 100 technical video sessions will be offered, covering topics such as Apple Intelligence, developer tools, design, graphics and gaming, and machine learning. From Tuesday to Friday, online Q&A sessions known as Group Labs will be held, each lasting up to 60 minutes. Apple also revealed today the 36 finalists for the Apple Design Awards across six categories: Fun & Games, Inclusion, Innovation, Interaction, Social Impact, and Visuals; winners will be announced soon. Meanwhile, the Swift Student Challenge saw 350 winners this year, with 50 “Distinguished Winners” invited to attend a special three-day event during WWDC week.
