ByteDance’s AI assistant, Doubao, recently released an official statement confirming that it is testing a professional edition targeting professionals. The edition is planned to cover scenarios such as software development, data analysis, professional design, process automation, financial analysis, and scientific research. At the same time, the company clarified that basic features for general users—including search Q&A, writing and image generation, voice and video conversations—will continue to be free under the existing strategy, and the professional edition will also be provided free of charge up to a certain usage quota.
The statement also addressed recent public speculation: the company noted that a large number of marketing accounts with the same IP have been spreading content claiming that „Doubao will degrade basic features to force users to buy a membership,“ calling this „completely false information.“ The company stated that the professional edition is still in the testing phase and that complete details will be released through official channels upon its official launch.
