Nvidia CEO Huang says workers should be paid 'as much as possible', responds to Samsung union bonus question at Computex

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said at a Computex Taipei press conference on June 2 that workers should be paid as much as possible, entering a broader debate about how profits from the AI infrastructure boom should be distributed. The remarks came in response to a question about Samsung Electronics’ recent compensation agreement that will deliver bonuses of up to $400,000 to chip engineers — a deal reached to avert a strike at the company. “I think people should be paid as much as possible,” Huang said. “I pay my employees as much as I can. That’s what I do — doesn’t make this right.” Nvidia’s stock has risen more than 1,170% over the past five years, turning many employees who hold stock options into millionaires.

Huang also noted that Nvidia remains “supply constrained” but has “enough supply for very robust growth.” He is scheduled to fly to South Korea on Friday for meetings with SK Group, Hyundai, and other leading Korean conglomerates focused on robotics and physical AI, and will also tape an appearance on the popular TV show You Quiz on the Block. The Computex comments follow Nvidia’s Monday announcement of RTX Spark, its new 3nm Windows PC processor co-developed with MediaTek — a move that puts it in direct competition with Apple, AMD, and Intel in the consumer AI PC market.
