Google Marketing Live 2026: Search ads fully integrated with Gemini; Dynamic Ads upgraded to AI Max starting September

At Google Marketing Live 2026, Google announced that it will rebuild its search advertising product line using Gemini as the foundation. The standout new format is the “Conversational Discovery Ads,” which directly showcase product details and recommendations to users within AI-driven search conversations, while also providing independent AI-generated explanations to boost transparency. Additionally, Highlighted Answers Ads and AI-powered Shopping Ads will be seamlessly integrated into search results pages. Meanwhile, the Gemini-enhanced advertising assistant tool, Ask Advisor, will span Google Ads, Analytics, Merchant Center, and Marketing Platform, serving as an AI-driven strategic planning aide for advertisers.

Regarding product restructuring, Dynamic Search Ads will be fully upgraded to AI Max starting September; features such as automatic creative generation and broad matching will then transfer over. AI Max will also expand into shopping and travel advertising contexts, introducing automated bidding mechanisms like Journey-Aware Bidding and Demand-Led Pacing. Consequently, advertisers still using Dynamic Search Ads must conduct migration assessments by the September deadline.
